The Highland Business Education Alliance is composed of educators
and local business people who share a common goal with you-to
provide the best education possible for the students of Highland
Community School District #5.
In pursuit of this goal, we are creating a SPEAKERS BUREAU. The
Speakers Bureau would be composed of professionals, retirees,
or even people with hobbies who will volunteer to speak to a class
and share their expertise. Our hope is to provide our teachers
(from elementary through high school) with a list of people who
have expertise in a given area(s) who are willing to add to the
usual classroom instruction.
The concept of a Speaker's Bureau is not new and has worked very
well in many communities. The speakers welcome the opportunity
to share their knowledge and experiences with the students, while
the students welcome the opportunity to learn from someone who
has "been there, done that."
The teachers have already indicated that they are very excited
about the idea of a Speakers Bureau. Now we need YOUR help.

in the Speakers Bureau. In addition to some general information,
you will find a list of some topics that the teachers are most
interested in having speakers for. If you would be willing to
speak to a class about a topic which is listed, or even one which
may not be listed, please complete the application and submit
it as directed.
Your participation in the Speakers Bureau is an excellent opportunity
for you to enhance the education of our students in the Highland
School District. Please take a moment to volunteer to become a
member of our Speakers Bureau and help us provide the best education
possible for our students.
