We had help with the morning announcements from students in Mrs Minford’s class. They gave a short lesson on Martin Luther King, Jr.

Mrs.Ford’s class also donated gloves, mittens and scarves.
Students from Mrs Langham, Mrs. Cotto, Mrs. Becker and Ms. Ahlgren’s classes collected mittens, hats, gloves and scarves for the Indian School Reservation for Kids.

Thank you to everyone who cleaned out closets and donated to our USAgain bins at the 4 Diamonds. Only 3 Illinois schools were in the top 10 of the Battle of the Schools Contest. We competed with schools from all around the country and won 2nd place. We’ll receive $1000!

Please fill us up! It’s time to get rid of clothes you haven’t worn, curtains and towels that haven’t been used in years, and purses and shoes that are no longer needed. There’s one week left and Highland Elementary has fallen to second place. We are determined to get the top spot back. Please help us by spreading the word.

It’s time to clean out those closets! Highland Elementary is participating in the “Battle of the Schools”. This is a clothing and shoe collection challenge hosted by USAgain. Please place any unwanted clothing and shoes in the bins at the 4 Diamonds. The contest runs Sept. 14- Oct. 14. The top 20 schools will win anywhere from $250-$2000! We appreciate your support.
