Mr. Gindler and some of our former fifth graders are enjoying the SIUE Percussion Camp this week.
No Taxation Without Representation! The colonists in Mrs. Spies's fifth grade class were not happy about paying King George all of the taxes he was imposing.

Mrs. Thies's class enjoyed the team building activity "Cross the River" in PE today!
Our girls enjoyed making inspirational cards during Girls on the Run practice for children being treated at St. Louis Children's Hospital. They chose a thoughtful and meaningful service project.
Mr. Case and Mr. Gindler are meeting with 4th graders this week and letting the students try out all of the different instruments that they can play next year in the 5th grade band.
Thank you to everyone who cleaned out closets and donated textiles. Highland Elementary won 6th place in the Earth Month Contest and will be awarded a bonus of $400!
Congratulations to fourth grader Scarlett N. for being a finalist in the Picture the Music Contest sponsored by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Scarlett was recognized at a banquet at the Missouri Botanical Gardens on Sunday. Over 16,000 students participated in the area and she ranked in the top 100. Her art will be on display at the St. Louis Art Museum and the Butterfly House in the upcoming weeks.
2 weeks left of this contest. We filled the bins over the weekend. Let's do it again! We are in the running for monetary prizes. If you haven't cleaned out the closets yet, there's still time!
Today is the day! The contest lasts until April 15.
Girls on the Run has begun!
It's almost time for our Earth Month Textile Recycling contest! From March 15-April 15, we will be competing with schools all over the country for a cash prize. Please start cleaning out those closets now. We can start filling up the bins next Friday!
We are having so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss this week!
