The 8th grade lost a tough one to Alton 7-2 and the 7th grade came away with a big win vs. Alton 13-3.
8th baseball is tied with Alton in the bottom of the 5th 2-2. The 7th grade is playing at Alton and winning 11-2.
Congratulations to the HMS softball team with their 2nd place finish in the O’Fallon Classic. They Went 4-1 with their only loss
to Edwardsville in Championship game! What a way to start your season!
Congratulations to our softball team who beat Mascoutah 3-1 to move into the Championship vs. Edwardsville! Go Dogs!
Softball plays Mascoutah in a semi-final game at the O'Fallon Classic today at 4pm. The winner plays either Edwardsville or O'Fallon Fulton at 6pm in the Championship!
Softball wins 12-0 over Wesclin in O'Fallon Classic. On to the championship round tomorrow! Good luck ladies!

We are thrilled and deeply honored to announce that Mrs. JoAnna Espique has been awarded a $2000 Osmo for Schools Mini Grant! She was one of 20 educators selected for the grant from 661 applications across the U.S. Mrs. Espique is a Special Education teacher at HMS.

All incoming 6th grade students are welcome to attend the HMS 6th grade orientation Wednesday, August 11th. Students will have an opportunity to receive their schedule, meet some of their teachers, get a tour of the building, and more!
Session 1 is for students with last names A-K 9:30-11:00.
Session 2 is for students with last names L-Z 1:00-2:30.

Change to 6th & 7th grade baseball tryouts.
HMS Parents,
Due to a schedule conflict, the dates for 6th & 7th grade baseball tryouts have been changed.
Tryouts for 6th & 7th grades will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd and Wednesday, August 4th. The location and times will remain the same. There are no changes to the 8th grade schedule.
As a reminder, students who do not have a current physical (within the past 395 days) on file at HMS will not be allowed to try out. If you have any questions, please contact Jill Reaka, HMS Athletic Secretary, at jreaka@highlandcusd5.org.
