Our Food For Families Drive ends this Wednesday, and we are hoping to get more donations by tomorrow. All of the food donated goes to HACSM, the Highland Food Pantry, so everything you give is staying close to home. It is with great hopes that you will be able to give . . . if you can. As of right now, here are the standings in the advisories: 6th = Nave, 7th = Hubbard, and 8th = Schmitz. Each winning grade advisory wins a pizza party, as simple way of saying Thank You!!

Spring picture proofs are being sent home today with your student. If your student left early, or was not in attendance today, they will get the proof sheet on Tuesday morning. The deadline to order pictures is Friday, April 26. Make sure to return your form, with the pose selected, and money to the office by that date. Thank you!!

Team 6 Black Super Six Awards for March

The HMS Student Council would like to complete one more community service project before the end of the school year. We have chosen to participate in a food drive called "Food For Families", which benefits families in all of Madison County. We are especially excited, because our donations will go directly to the HACSM, our local food pantry. Last year, the drive collected over 17,100 pounds of food, with many local schools participating. Their goal this year is to collect 25,000 pounds of food, and we are excited to try to help them achieve this goal. Students may donate any of the items below and/or monetary donations. Food products are weighed, while each dollar donated equals a pound of food. This is our second year participating in the event, we do not have a set goal, but we are excited to find out what we can raise for this wonderful program. We are going to run this as an advisory competition from April 1st - 24th. The winning advisory, the one with the most weight collected, from each grade level will receive a pizza party. If you have any questions, please contact dhubbard@highlandcusd5.org or visit the FaceBook page "Food For Families Madison County".
Thanks,
Dawn Hubbard
