There will be no Center Schools PTO meeting this month!!

Auditions for the High School Musical for students grades 4-8, that were supposed to take place this afternoon, have been rescheduled for next Wednesday February 9th at 4:15 in the high school choir room.

Grantfork Elementary held its annual Spelling Bee this afternoon! We had 40 participants! After 7 rounds of fierce competition, our Spelling Bee Champion is Braden Zeller from Mrs. Warnecke's class & our Runner-up is Tenley Henkhaus from Ms. Weiss' class! Congratulations to all who participated - we are very proud of you all!!




Today, 53 of our students were rewarded for their extra effort in Academics, Accountability, Attendance & Attitude (Quadruple A Club). They got to go to The Lory Theater to watch Home Alone & also received a small popcorn & drink. A shout-out to our amazing PTO who paid for this reward!




Each year we challenge the students at Grantfork Elementary to come up with a disguise for their turkey to keep him or her from being eaten at Thanksgiving dinner! They are to use items they find at home to create a disguise. The students did not disappoint - there were some very creative entries! The top three chosen were: Teagan B - Queen of Hearts, Angi M - Pikachu, Madison H - Game Warden & the overall winner was Aynslie E - Covid 19!




Today at Grantfork, we had some special visitors! The HHS Madrigals came to perform for us! They did a fantastic job! It was nice to see so many center school alum in the group!!



Today at Grantfork Elementary, we held our annual Veteran's Day Program. A big shout out to Mrs. Keys, our music director for all her hard work. The students did a fantastic job with their music & a flag folding ceremony. Special thanks to Donna Suhre our emcee, as well as our guest speaker, Natalie Propst, the current nurse at Highland High School and a US Veteran!




On Monday, November 1st, 30 of our students were recognized as VIP students for the month of October. Those students went the entire month with NO STRIKES! They were rewarded with a certificate and a cookie!! Congratulations to all!



Our teachers were such good sports in dressing up in costumes chosen by the students during the PTO Costume Contest! Mr. Vallero didn't get the memo that it was Tuesday instead of Wednesday & even our custodian Mrs. Dant dressed up as our beloved Paco complete with overalls, red handkerchief & mask that says "livin the dream".



Today, our students participated in a bus evacuation drill with Linda & Connie from First Student! They went over the rules & expectations in case of an emergency, then we practiced evacuating from the front and back of the bus!





On Friday, October 8th - the Grantfork Volunteer Fire Dept came to celebrate Fire Safety Day! They had several stations set up including fire extinguishers, spray foam, an antique water pump and the rescue helicopter. They always do a great job of educating and engaging the students!!





Mrs. Warnecke's fourth grade class followed the life cycle of a butterfly - from eggs, to caterpillar, to chrysalis then butterfly. They released the butterflies - it was very exciting!
