Congratulations to all of the students who worked hard over Christmas break to study for today’s Spelling Bee. Congratulations to Runner Up Katie Fenton and Champion Parker Munie!


We lost a big, beautiful tree this fall that was in front of the school. A big thank you to Dale Vrell for saving a piece and spending the time to preserve it. It turned out to be a beautiful piece in our landscape.

Our third graders are getting crafty this morning. They’re making ornaments for their trees!



Mr. McGinthy and HE band members enjoyed the warmer weather this week by taking their music outside.


We hope all of our HE families had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Please remember as you’re decorating for the holidays, old Christmas lights can be dropped off in the office. We will recycle them for you!

These can be dropped off in the office or sent in with students. Please consider keeping these items out of our landfills and helping Highland Elementary at the same time.

Visitors from the St. Louis Blues organization are joining our PE classes this week. Jamal Mayers, who spent 10 seasons with the Blues starting in 1993, talked to our afternoon classes today.
