Mrs. Bartlett’s fifth grade class celebrated Earth Day by planting a tree and listening to a presentation given by WIU student Nick B. A big thank you to Personal Preference for the donation of the tree!




Plant flowers, pick up trash, recycle... do something great for our Earth today!


Congratulations to our Vituity Healthcare Art Contest winners. Grade 5 Mazzio’s Night is tonight! Take the night off from cooking and come out to support our fifth grade! Take out orders are included and it goes from 5:00-9:00.

The HP vs HE basketball game and raffle was a big success last night. Thank you to all who watched and participated. A fun time was had by all!

Highland Elementary will be participating in the Earth Month Textile Drive contest starting tomorrow; however, due to Saturday’s storm, we are unable to use our bins. Please clean out those closets and stay posted on the developments. As soon as they are upright, we will let you know.

Congratulations to Lydia G. for winning first place in the United Nation’s World Water Day Photography Contest! The contest was co-sponsored by National Great Rivers Research and Education Center and Swarovski Waterschool. She is a fifth grader in Mrs. Bartlett’s class.

Skin care packaging: lip balm tubes and caps, soap dispensers and tubes, body wash caps, lotion dispensers and caps.
Hair care packaging: shampoo caps, conditioner caps, hair gel tubes, and caps, hair spray triggers, and hair paste caps.
Cosmetic packaging: lipstick cases, lip gloss tubes, mascara tubes, eye shadow cases, bronzer cases, foundation packaging, powder cases, eyeliner cases, eyeliner pencils, eye shadow tubes, concealer tubes, concealer sticks, and lip liner pencils.
We earn money for our school while saving these from going to landfills. These items can be dropped off in the school office.

Tonight is Mazzio’s Night for our Specialists. Come out and have dinner with us. Dine in or carry out from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
