Mrs. Brown’s and Mrs. Minford’s classes are working to save Fred the Worm. By only using paper clips, they have to get him from his boat into the lifesaver. They’re using great teamwork and problem solving skills.

Highland Elementary is supporting Danielle Cares for Chairs. This organization recycles bread tags for money. The money is used to purchase wheelchairs and other mobility devices for those who need them. Please send your bread tags to Highland Elementary! There is great information on their website. Our textile contest has begun! This 3-day weekend would be a great time to clean out those closets. Please support Highland Elementary by placing your old clothing, curtains and bedding in the bins at the 4-Diamonds. What cannot be reused is recycled into insulation and other materials.

The new school year is upon us. We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow night at Back to School Night. Remember, A-K comes between 6:30-7:00 and L-Z comes between 7:00 and 7:30. We hope you’re all as excited as we are! Enter through the door your child will enter through on a school day and come meet your teacher.

Did you know we recycle plastic flexible packaging from Kroger and Ruler Foods? Packaging from Kroger brand, Simple Truth, Private Selection, Comforts, Hemisfares, Abound, and more can be saved through the summer and brought into the Highland Elementary office when we return to school. Our school earns money for these packages while we save them from the landfills!
