Miss Detweiler’s third graders built bridges during science today.

Mrs. Plebanek’s fourth grade class did an effective lesson on being kind. They learned that words are like toothpaste. Once they’re out of your mouth, they can’t be put back in.

Get ready to clean out those closets! Highland Elementary has joined the Battle of the Schools for the month of September. All linens, clothing, shoes, hats and purses are eligible. Please place these into the green and white bins at the 4 Diamonds during September. We are competing with schools across the country to see who can collect the most pounds of textiles. Each time a bin is emptied, a tree is planted. Let’s fill those bins!

Mrs. Langham’s class prepared boxes of school supplies for the Pine Ridge Reservation School which will be delivered next week.

Miss Detweiler’s third grade class enjoyed throwing a pie in their teacher’s face. This was their reward for meeting their AR goal this quarter.

Congratulations to Ms. Guse’s class for winning the 2022 Fifth Grade Academic Challenge!

Wrapping up 5th grade ELA with GLOWING review!

Please come support a new business and Highland Elementary at the same time! Grab a drink or a bite to eat at Scooters on Monday, May 23, and a percentage of the sales will go to our school.

Please come cheer on our Girls on the Run! We are participating in a practice 5K on Tuesday, May 10 at 3:40. We will start in front of Highland Primary and end in front of Highland Elementary. We are asking people to stand anywhere along the route to cheer and motivate the girls. It's going to be hot, so they may need extra motivation! They have worked hard all season, so let's show them they have the community's support! Here is the map of our route. GOTR 5k Route 0 https://5il.co/1a4qy

Come listen to the Highland Elementary band Tuesday, May 10 on the Highland Square! They will be joining the HMS band for an outdoor concert at 7:00 pm! It’s going to be a beautiful night!

We love our teachers! A little Cinco de Mayo celebration during lunch was a blast!
